PRIDE WINNIPEG AWARDED FIERTÉ CANADA PRIDE NATIONAL CONFERNCE 2027

Winnipeg, Manitoba – March 16,2026 — Pride Winnipeg is proud to announce it has been selected to host the Fierté Canada Pride (FCP) National Conference 2027, bringing together 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride organizers, advocates, and community leaders from across the country.
The national conference, FCP’s premier annual gathering focused on community building, knowledge sharing, and organizational capacity, will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba in March 2027. The selection recognizes Pride Winnipeg’s leadership within the national Pride movement and highlights Winnipeg as an important hub for 2SLGBTQIA+ organizing on the Prairies.

“We are honoured to welcome Pride leaders from across Canada to Winnipeg,” said Barry Karlenzig, President of Pride Winnipeg. “Hosting the Fierté Canada Pride National Conference is an opportunity to share our experiences, learn from one another, and strengthen the collective work that supports 2SLGBTQIA+ communities nationwide. We are especially honoured to host this alongside our 40th anniversary events taking place in 2027. As one of the founding organizations of FCP having the conference back in Winnipeg is a true honour”.

“Fierté Canada Pride was formed following a national gathering of Pride festivals in Winnipeg, where organizers came together to strengthen connections across the Pride movement in Canada,” said Brice Field, Director of Operations and Sustainability with Fierté Canada Pride. “Pride Winnipeg has long been part of that movement and has played an important role in building community in Canada. Returning to Winnipeg for the 2027 National Conference feels especially meaningful for our organization as the community celebrates Pride Winnipeg’s 40th anniversary and we continue the work of connecting Pride organizers from across the country.”

The conference will feature panel discussions, workshops, and community forums focused on issues impacting Pride organizations today, including equity-centered event planning, safety and security, governance, sustainability, and engaging communities in both urban and rural settings.
Fierté Canada Pride is the national association of Pride organizations in Canada, supporting member festivals and Pride movements through collaboration, advocacy, and shared resources. The annual national conference plays a key role in strengthening Pride organizations and amplifying voices from across the country.
The 2027 conference will take place alongside various other events in Winnipeg as we celebrate our 40th anniversary.
