PRIDE WINNIPEG ANNOUNCES THIS YEARS 2026 THEME

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Winnipeg, Manitoba – April 10,2026 — Pride Winnipeg is proud to announce the 2026 Theme  “Celebrate YOU”.

YOU are what we’re celebrating; YOU are why we’re all here. The word you in this case is used to represent all of us as a whole. It’s a sentiment of encouragement and love. More than just a logo, Celebrate YOU is a full theme that incorporates radiating shapes, bright, energetic colour combinations, and unique typography styles to amplify images of the community and create a deep feeling of celebration. In addition, it includes a kiss, a flower, a sun, and a doorway which are used as a spotlight for the community. Whether it’s a frame, a shape emanating outward to create a pattern, or a funky colourful background, the execution of these elements create moments of excitement and whimsy.

“I’m proud to share, this year’s logo includes both English and French versions,” said Barry Karlenzig, President.  “This is the first time we’ve included both of Manitoba’s official languages in our logo. “Celebrate YOU, honours and uplifts the 2SLGBTQ+ community while advocating for our freedom and equality,” Karlenzig, adds. “We’re excited for the Celebrate YOU 2026 Pride Winnipeg Festival to be our biggest and most vibrant yet. Let’s come together to showcase the strength, unity, and pride of our community here in Winnipeg and across Manitoba to the rest of Canada!”

This year’s theme was brought to life by local designer, Andrew Mingo. Andrew is a proud Winnipeg creative and designer who employs colour, type and imagery to inspire delight in their work.

Andrew worked closely with the internal marketing and communications team to create a theme that amplifies Pride as a celebration of Queer identities.

“Celebrate YOU! is a message of encouragement and endurance from one community member to another. Pride is a celebration of all the things that make us unique. It’s a message to the world that it’s ok to take pride in who you are,” said Mingo, designer.  “With this theme I wanted to make a statement and to bring focus to why we’re all here; for YOU!

“Especially in our world today,” Mingo explains, “we must take a stand against adversity and push for improved rights for all. Celebrating each other in our identity is just one way for us to do that. Pride is an annual reminder of why we’re all here, and this theme makes that clear.”

Join Pride Winnipeg in celebrating all that makes our community so great, YOU!
