PRIDE WINNIPEG ANNOUNCES DATES FOR THE 2022 FIERTÉ CANADA PRIDE FESTIVAL

Pride Winnipeg, in conjunction with Fierté Canada Pride (FCP), is excited to announce the dates for the second National Fierté Canada Pride Festival hosted here in Winnipeg this summer.

May 27, 2022 – Pride Week in Manitoba will officially begin with the raising of the Pride Flag at City Hall.

June 1-2 & 3, 2022 – Pride Winnipeg and FCP will be hosting the FCP Human Rights Conference with specialized youth programming the morning of June 3rd, provided in conjunction with Rainbow Resource Centre.

March 1, 2022 – Registration for the conference will open on the Pride Winnipeg website. Anyone can register to attend; with preferred pricing for members of Pride organizations across the country and internationally. A couple of the items included for registrants are a Cocktail Gala at the new Qaumajuq, Inuit art centre located at the WAG, and a wrap-up breakfast to be served on Friday morning for registered delegates at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

June 4 & 5, 2022 – The Fierté Canada Pride Festival will be held on the Forks and Parks Canada grounds and will include the following zones:

FCP Canada Village: Held in the North field of Parks Canada, this will include Canada Stage, a second Beer Gardens, Taste of Canada food vendors, booths hosting Prides from across the country, sponsors, and Pride Mart.

Winnipeg Festival Field: Located in the main part of the Forks grounds, this will include our Winnipeg Stage, Beer Gardens & Substance Free zone, food vendors, sponsors, and community partners as well as our KidsZone which will have children’s entertainment and snack vendors.

Indigenous 2 Spirit Field: Located behind Johnston Terminal will be the home of the largest dedicated Indigenous festival grounds in Pride Winnipeg history. Two full days of specialized programming will be held celebrating traditional ceremony, dance, and culture.

June 5, 2022: Pride Rally & Parade: Beginning at the Manitoba Legislature. Pride Winnipeg will be holding its pride rally. Join our speakers in giving words to our feelings of celebrations and advocacy. Pride Winnipeg is happy to announce that once again our Parade route will be down Portage Ave, beginning at the corner of Memorial and Portage Ave.

Hosting the second National FCP Pride Festival is the culmination of work done over the past five years by the Pride Winnipeg Team, FCP (our national Pride organization), and members of our community, Tourism Winnipeg, Downtown Biz, and the City of Winnipeg.

We are all so very excited to welcome everyone from across the country and internationally to Winnipeg this summer to join us in conversation and celebration.
