(Winnipeg, MB; February 22 2019) – Pride Winnipeg is thrilled to announce that our 32nd Annual Parade route on June 2nd, 2019 will take place in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. With approval from the City of Winnipeg and Pride Winnipeg Volunteer Board of Directors, the 2019 Pride Winnipeg Parade will take place on Portage Avenue and run through the city’s most important intersection, Portage & Main, for this historic milestone in our community. This expanded and more prominent route signals that Winnipeg is at the forefront of celebrating and advocating for the GSRD community.
“This is a monumental change for the route. We are beyond excited to host the parade through the heart of our downtown. We would like to thank the community and our partners for their voices and support to get us back on Portage”, Micaela Reeve – Parade Director says.
“The Mayor and Special event department has been extremely supportive in helping us move this historic March back to Portage Ave for this year and Hopefully years to come”, Barry Karlenzig – VP Programming says.
The 32nd Annual Parade & Rally will take place on Sunday, June 2, 2019 and kick off with the Rally on the steps of the Legislature followed by the Parade starting nearby on Memorial Boulevard.
