Our New Brand

Pride Winnipeg is excited and proud to announce that we have updated our brand! This announcement is a direct result of our ongoing efforts to mirror the growth in our community and our organization. Our new brand identity reflects the colours of the ever-growing diversity of our community and conveys an image of what our community finds important, as well as painting a more accurate picture of our movement in today’s world.

We continue to strive to be active listeners of our GSRD (Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diverse) community, to their needs, wants, fights, and victories. Learning from our community has made us who we are: resilient, vibrant, inclusive, and accessible.

The PRIDE OF THE PRAIRIES tagline is Pride Winnipeg’s way, in a few succinct words, to tell people who we are and what we stand for. This catchphrase communicates the pride for where we are located – in Canada’s golden Prairies. Pride of the Prairies affirms that we are the heart of Canada, and we’re very proud of celebrating our uniqueness.

This has been our tagline for the past many years, and we love it so much that we’re keeping it even though our visual brand is changing. You will see the tagline in new and awesome ways, including on merchandise, on our website, and on our social media platforms.

Going forward you will  start to see two elements of our new branding constantly on our communications:

The Pride Bar: this simple bar construction composed of 11 coloured blocks symbolizes our coming together to celebrate our diversity.

The Spectrum: this is a representation of light waves that translates, in its added depth, the idea of fluidity to our brand.

The inspiration for these elements come from the Progress Flag, designed by Daniel Quasar in 2018. The diverse spectrum of colours on this flag translates the goal of our brand and helps to build the supporting elements that compose our visual identity. That’s our brand. We are fluid, resilient, diverse, and bold.
