This year our community lost Dr. Dick Smith and Two Spirit Elder Kelly Houle both of whom lived through hardships, discrimination, and had inspiring journeys towards joy. Their beautiful hearts and spirits allowed them to transform into brave, valuable, truly meaningful and irreplaceable members of our community. Their stories can be remembered through our own journeys. The organizations and memories left behind in our hearts influence our own beautiful becoming.

This is an open invite to come and listen to our queer history here in Winnipeg. Come to share your own stories, poetry, songs, or personally practice ceremonial two spirit grieving. Bring a chair, blanket or snack to get comfortable. There will be no alcohol or substances permitted and we ask you to properly dispose of any garbage.

Vigil Date, Time & Location:

Sunday, May 26th from 6-8pm

Memorial Park (Across from the Manitoba Legislative Building)

219 Memorial Blvd, Winnipeg, MB

Vigil This year’s 2024 Pride Winnipeg Vigil will be focused on community grieving of losses and celebration of victories.
